Founded in 2007 by Rome and Erika Cohen, Alchemist in Miami Beach offers an extraordinary retail experience totally out of the ordinary. An insulated box nestled in a ground floor space facing Miami Beach's Lincoln Road. Permanent and temporary installations by artists and designers such as Zaha Hadid, Marina Abramovic, Los Carpinteros and Random International accompany customers through an offer of selected lifestyle products and over sixty fashion collections. The history of the Alchemist store begins with the innovative parking lot designed by Herzog & de Meuron located at 1111 Lincoln Road in Miami Beach. Here Alchemist is present with two offices, the glass-box located on level 5 and the store on the ground floor. Alchemist and architect Rene Gonzalez received the Honor Award for Interior Architecture for the design of the store located on the fifth floor, while the store on the ground floor was awarded a Merit Award and in 2014, it received a Best of the Year Award from Interior Design magazine.
