Ghiglino 1893 Loft

Ghiglino 1893 is the story of a romantic family passion: in 1893, in Genoa, on Via XX Settembre, the founder
Nicolo Ghiglino opens a fabric store. Precious English fabrics characterize the store, which immediately becomes a shopping landmark for lovers of British style. Subsequently, Nicolo Giglino is replaced by the son of his sister Agostina, Constantino Barabino: the store expands, the turnover increases, the Ghiglino 1893 brand becomes more and more famous.
Around 1950, Costantino's son Angelo Barabino decides to take a big step by adding men's clothing sales to fabrics.
The choice turns out to be a happy one, the store grows, and therefore in 1965 women's clothing is also introduced to complete the work.
In the meantime, the fourth generation passes away: Alba and Paola, Angelo's daughters. Both sisters place great emphasis on male and female lines, creating their own creations, the result of careful research and selection, which are popular with the public and, in particular, with young people.
The fifth generation, the current one, is the daughters of Alba and Paola, Anna and Helena, who took the baton, bringing freshness and innovation to the store's long history: the opening of Loft 1893, a space inspired by New York City lofts entirely dedicated to women's fashion, again in Genoa at 19a Fiasella Street.
