The first cautious steps were taken on February 1, 1974, when director Wentzel of the shoe chain Hector took over four stores. So right from the start, the PAW SHOES, as the new stores came to be called, were nicely distributed in both the east and west of the kingdom; namely Grenå, Haderslev, Randers and Rødovre. With care, but not without daring, the family's shoe chain has slowly grown large. The long, tough move has been a good strategy for the family business, and today a very large part of the Danish population can be said to be customers in the chain's 15 stores, which now cover the whole of Denmark.
