A name is inextricably linked to Jagt & Fiskerimagasinet. This is Ludvig Svendsen. He was originally trained as a wine waiter, but already from a very young age had an unquenchable appetite for everything to do with hunting and fishing. From the childhood home behind the Glyptoteket, it was a walk to Dragør and southern Amager, when ducks and waders had to be shot during the season. The pike and the suds in Copenhagen's moats could never know for sure for the young brushhead, and he was probably the first in this country to start doing actual sport fishing in salt water. On the whole, Ludvig Svendsen had a watchful eye for what was happening abroad, and he had a business sense. Nose for new currents in time. So when the economic barometer also began to rise in the home in the years after World War I, he struck, left his wine barrels and made his hobbies his livelihood.
