The Royal Militær- og Vaisenhus apotek is one of Copenhagen's oldest pharmacies. In 1727, Frederik IV established a foundation for the upbringing and education of orphaned children: Vaisenhuset, and this institution was associated with several companies that were to contribute to the financing, including a pharmacy. In 1742, the pharmacy was separated as an independent company. It has had several addresses, among others. a. on Nytorv, but in 1826 it opened on the corner of Købmagergade and Kronprinsensgade, where it was located, until it moved in June 2003 to Landemærket and became a neighbor of Rundetårn.
