In 1980 a very young graduate of the Art Institute for Ceramics of S. Stefano di Camastra, found in his sister Sara an "INSPIRING MUSE", and a "FARO", and together they bet on their own future. Thus was born in Cefalù, pearl of the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the old via Roma, “A Lumera” an artisan workshop for the creation of objects first in ceramic and majolica, and today also in lava stone. The laboratory is the forge where the art teacher Lillo develops what he has learned in the five years of school, but also and above all what his imagination and his skill on the lathe allow him to shape the two together. water and earth elements. Thus objects of all shapes and sizes come to life such as water bottles, jars, jars, however real masterpieces which, once dried and fired, move on to the phase of enamelling and painting. At Lumera Lavorazione Decoration The laboratory, in the heart of the historic center of Cefalù, a town of immense and millenary charm, history, culture, over the years is joined by two other stores, even more central and close to the Piazza del Duomo, surmounted by what is a masterpiece of Arab-Norman art: the Cathedral of Cefalù. Art creations, therefore, the objects of Lillo and Sara in the heart of a seaside town, with a high tourist vocation. In Lumera, however, alongside the traditional clay processing, over the years it also adds other productions, such as that of lava stone, with new techniques but handed down from the past. Paraphrasing a well-known song, "with one foot in the past, but a straight and careful look into the future" In Lumera, the lamp, the guiding light, continues to be an essential point of reference for those who want to buy majolica, ceramics, stonework lava of great class and taste that a "boy" now a mature middle-aged man, never paid, produces sitting on the wheel, like that first day 30 years ago.
