Luigi Calvini and Mariagiovanna in 1978 started the Calvini Winery and related production of national wines. In the mid-90s, his son Luca took over the family vineyard in Ceriana, uprooting the old varieties and replanting the Pigato; shortly afterwards the vineyard area increases considerably, detecting a large plot of Vermentino at Poggio di Sanremo. The painstakingly curated production has led over the years to over fifty national and international awards in various wine competitions. Luca is flanked by his wife Claudia and now together they produce: Vermentino, Pigato and Moscatello di Taggia all Riviera Ligure di Ponente DOC, two IGP Terrazze dell'Imperiese wines and the Spumante VSQ. The future… is a woman in the Calvini house, two girls, the daughters, Ilaria and Elena are entering the company.
