Bikeshop 66

When Mr. Berlage designed and had the Rivierenbuurt built in 1928, a bicycle shop was opened at 66 Scheldestraat, which it is still today under the name Bikeshop-66. In 1978 I (Theo van Lammeren) applied as a bicycle mechanic at George Kalee at bicycle shop Raleigh House. I was only 17 years old at the time and with great pleasure I learned the fascinating trade and developed into an all-round bicycle mechanic and salesman. In September 1989 George decided to sell the Raleigh House and I saw it as a great challenge to take over this shop from him and put all my energy and enthusiasm into it. The name Raleigh House derives from the time when mainly bicycles and parts of the English brand Raleigh were sold. However, in 2001 Raleigh (England) decided to stop the production line. We were forced to start selling other good top brands. We are therefore very proud of our current collection of approximately 400 bicycles from top brands, whereby we can offer you a lot of diversity. Since 2011, our store has undergone a major renovation, so that we now have a space of 200m² in total as a showroom for our bicycles and accessories. Good service, knowledge and craftsmanship come naturally to us. Each bicycle is first technically checked and fully assembled before you collect your new bicycle from us. After six months, your bicycle will be returned to us for a free service. There is also a twelve-month warranty on all bicycles sold by us. My right-hand man Marck Duchateau and I hope to welcome you as a customer in our cozy shop soon.
