Budgov, artist, arranger and composer - who has been involved and influenced in the formation of Israeli rock from the 1970s to the present - has been a partner in the Israeli music industry for the past three decades and is one of the leading and most influential musicians and guitarists in the country. He took part in arranging and playing thousands of albums made in Israel with the best artists. Shmulik Budgov was born in 1955 in Tel Aviv, where he spent his childhood and adolescence, in a house where music was the focus around which the family came together. His father Yom-Tov Budgov was one of the most talented tar (Persian musical instruments) in Israel. At a very young age, Shmulik Budgov excelled in his extraordinary musical talent, and already at the age of ten, Shmulik decided to dedicate himself fully and seriously to learning to play the guitar. Budgov bought his first guitar with much effort, from wages from casual jobs after school. The year is 1969 - the first wave of rhythm bands is sweeping Israel. Shmulik Budgov, then 14, was a member of the band 'Thoughts', which performed in the first rock clubs around the country. The band played like all the bands at the time, cover-versions of rock bands like: Led-Zeppelin, Deep-Purple, Whipped Cream and Jimmy Hendrix, and others. In fact Budgov grew up in the 'golden age' of rock in the world. In 1971 - sixteen years old for a Budgov boy - and the ear of super producer Haim Saban hunted down the unique guitar sound of Shmulik Budgov. In fact, Saban discovered Budgov and added him to the Churchills. And from that moment his professional career, long-standing, broke out. From the age of 16 until his enlistment in the Armored Corps, Shmulik Budgov played with the Churchills and Arik Einstein. Upon his release, Shmulik Budgov joined the band "Sheshet", which was an extraordinary band in the Israeli music scene. An experience ahead of its time to combine diverse musical worlds: Israeli folk sound, Balkan music, jazz and rock. In the "Six" band, Shmulik met the talented drummer Iki Levy, who would later become a world-renowned musician. The meeting between Budgov and Iki Levy, a musical collaboration and a friendship that continues to this day, a world-wide relationship. This acquaintance gave birth in 1978 to the band "Brosh" - which many believe was the best band in Israel. The Brosh band teamed up with Ariel Zilber, and together they released an album and a joint show ('I Once Was a Little Boy'). The band gained widespread publicity on the mythical TV show "That's It". As part of her musical work on the television program 'This is It' between the years 1978 - 1988, the band "Brosh" placed its place at the top of the bands in the country as the most prominent band. The band created original materials and played them, live. "This is it" gained great popularity among the audience and the band "Brosh" managed to set a new standard for live performances on Israeli television. In 1988, the band "Brosh" disbanded with the end of the program "Zehu Ze", and each of the band members went their separate ways. Since then, Budgov has accompanied almost all types of Israeli artists - including: Zvika Pick, Shlomo Artzi, Matti Caspi and Riki Gal, Yehudit Ravitz, Nurit Galron, Korin Elal, Etty Ankry, Rita and Rami Kleinstein, Yigal Bashan, Ruthi Navon. Budgov has played on thousands of albums and has even produced a number of musical albums. The most notable album he produced was the first album of the band "The Jews". The award was presented to him by singer and composer Rami Kleinstein, who has worked with him for many years, both on stage and on his albums. Budgov does not freeze on his yeast. He continues to develop musically and perfects his many abilities and the way he plays. He is updated with every new movement that music brings with it and his playing is characterized by a warm, rich and unique sound just for him. As an artist and guitar player he has always sought the perfect sound. Sometimes he had to travel to the ends of the earth to look for unique guitar factories that would make him a guitar according to his requirements. During his professional career, Budgov gained a great deal of knowledge in building guitars, he became acquainted with the process of selecting the right trees, and made connections with some of the best musical instrument manufacturers in the world. These connections led Budgov to realize an old dream - producing guitars according to his high professional requirements and marketing them to the general public. 'Budgov' guitars are manufactured in the best factories in the world - factories that also produce the world-famous guitar brands. To realize this dream, a house with a special character was established in the Montefiore neighborhood of Tel Aviv, this house was designed in a warm and special style, different from the existing standard in the country for the welfare of musicians. This house will hold a unique activity for music-loving youth. In addition, special workshops for the purpose of specializing in musical ensembles. Budgov was recently chosen to represent the Israeli musicians in the 2000 encyclopedia published by Kimchi under the entry 'The Guitar'. In addition to the production of guitars, Budgov has specialized over the years in the production of drums and accessories for all musical instruments, thus succeeding in bringing about a large-scale change in market prices in the country, and bringing the right to purchase musical instruments at prices that suit everyone. Budgov's vision is to instill his love of music in as many people as possible, and to return the good music of yesteryear to us, to the Land of Israel.
