The Community is a place of welcome, life and occupation for 21 people, the companions. The survival of our community depends exclusively on the donations you make to us. Daily activity is thus based on the recovery, sorting, recycling and resale of second-hand items of all kinds. The only income of our organization, this activity especially allows companions to rebuild themselves, to regain a certain rhythm and to rebound socially. The Community in Etagnières was founded directly by Abbé Pierre, helped by a group of friends from the Community of Geneva. HISTORY OF THE COMMUNITY 2019 - The community goes up to Bern for the 50th anniversary of the 2018 manifesto - Development, construction and reorganization of the library 2015 - Rehabilitation of the refectory and end of the development works 2009 - Expansion of the store and construction of the pavilion retirements. 2008 - Development of the car park 2007 - Adoption of the La Combe district plan (Passage of the Community to the Villas zone). 2001 - Inauguration of the new shop 1994 - Celebration of the 20th anniversary (3-day trip with companions) 1978 - Inauguration of the new store 1974 - The Community is ready to welcome companions 1972 - Purchase of the farm "La Combaz" (former mill)
