In the early 1960s, six entrepreneurs met regularly to 'DISCUSSION'. They came up with the idea of purchasing goods together in order to negotiate a larger discount from suppliers. This resulted in the foundation of Discus by Piet de Hoge on December 9, 1964. On the 15th of that month the establishment was recorded by the notary, on January 25, 1965 the announcement appeared in the city newspaper. Discus was born!
