Durán Joyeros

It was 1969 when Durán Arte y Subastas was born, a pioneering project in Spain that was erected as a means to preserve art. At that time, the determined spirit of the Durán brothers overcame a delicate economic situation as a country and ignorance and disinterest, in general terms, in collecting. More than fifty years have passed and the auctions, promoted by Durán Arte y Subastas, have contributed to facilitating exchange and creating fans with the guarantee and transparency offered by a public sale that benefits both buyers and sellers. Thanks to this laborious and passionate work, we have been able to rediscover and culturally appreciate the Spanish 19th century with works by illustrious artists such as Mariano Fortuny, José Gallegos y Arnosa, Luis Jiménez Aranda or Raimundo de Madrazo, among others. As a consequence of this discovery, important works by artists from our country who rested abroad have returned to Spain and, in addition, some have become part of the collections of large museums such as the Museo Nacional del Prado, Museo Arqueológico Nacional, Museo Nacional Thyssen Bornemisza, Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, Museum of Decorative Arts, National Library and important national and international foundations, institutions and private collections. Durán Arte y Subastas has set record figures in the quotation of artists from different periods and artistic movements. With the same entrepreneurial spirit that marked the way back in 1969, Durán Arte y Subastas continues in the continuous search for innovation, successfully incorporating new technologies and satisfying the new needs of a globalized market. Our internationalization through our online art channel enables the expansion of a fickle market and democratizes knowledge and art for enthusiasts of a world that we are passionate about. Our commitment to digitization has positioned us in a prominent place in the online world, a position that we take care of thanks to the constant work on the renewal of the website, the incorporation of tools such as Durán Live of our own development, active participation in social networks and the means that technology offers to bring art closer to our homes.
