Enoteca Il Forletto

The “Il Forletto” wine shop is located at n ° 44 of Via Corradi, located in the center of the city of Sanremo, in the pedestrian area that just beyond the Casino branches off to reach the Cathedral of S. Siro and the market. The shop occupies about 200 square meters of the street level of a building from the 1300s, inside which you can still admire a wall from the year 1000 and two ancient underground cisterns, already used for the conservation of olive oil. Among the various activities attested over the centuries, there is that of a post and refueling station, when the building overlooked what was then the Via Aurelia, an oil mill in the oldest part and a butchery in the basement that still retain the old hooks for the drying of cured meats. Since the early 1900s, the premises have been used for the resale of wine, initially in bulk and in flasks. Since 1963 the business has been run by the Verrando family who, through various renovations and extensions, brought it to its present state. Enoteca Vinarius, among the 100 most important in Italy, is appreciated by its visitors for the incredibly wide choice that includes more than 2400 wine labels, mainly Italian and French. Among these stand out more than 200 dessert and meditation wines, a wide selection of organic and biodynamic wines, prestigious wines of all kinds. The assortment of liqueurs from all over the world is also very rich, including gin, vodka and spirits, with 200 types of whiskey and whiskey, 180 types of grappa and 100 different rums. Also interesting is the selection of Ligurian and regional food specialties and extra virgin olive oil. The shop has a corner for tastings proposed by the staff or chosen at the moment by friends, regular users, onlookers and passers-by, who are always and all welcome. The wine shop is directed by Roberto Verrando, AIS member, master grappaiolo, ambassador of Chianti, founder and president of the Vini in Teatro association and creator of the homonymous event, currently the most important in Liguria in the sector. Born in the world of wine, at the age of four he participated in the grape harvest in the family vineyards in the Langhe, internalizing emotions and knowledge, refined over time and expanded through study trips to Borgogne, Alsace, Champagne and in most of the Italian regions. He is assisted in the running of the wine shop by the founders Odette and Narciso and by the ten-year collaborator Paolo, while his wife Vivien deals with online sales.
