Company philosophy and history In 1991, Farben Wahl was founded as a retail company in Amstetten. Originally specialized in niche products that did not appear interesting for larger color retail chains due to the small size of the market segment and the intensity of advice, the range soon expanded. The rapid development of the business made a conversion into a limited liability company seem sensible as early as 1996. Proverbial problem-solving power, innovative range design and clever expansion and investment policy had increased the scope of business considerably in 15 branches and made a small family business into the largest paint trade (or wholesaler) between Salzburg and Vienna. The takeover of the paint shop Stadelbauer in 2002 as well as the new expansion in July 2012 by taking over the sales activities of Relius paints from the company Farben Stranz completes Farben Wahl with currently 15 locations to become a nationwide provider for almost 5 million Austrians with a perfect delivery network. This was not least reflected in the number of staff: around 80 employees are now trying to attract a steadily growing number of end users and processors.
