The Fort van Sjakoo bookshop has been located in the center of Amsterdam since 1977. Originally in a squatted residential-work building, on the route of a planned highway straight through the Nieuwmarkt neighborhood, and legalized since 1988. The Fort is currently being kept running full of enthusiasm by a collective of about ten volunteers. We are here to provide you with information. From the latest news to solid background information and history. A wide range of left-wing political and social-critical topics fills the store. Also a lot of attention for foreign publications, music and magazines in different languages. Come and have a look! If we don't have something, we can always order it for you.
