JYSK Zaventem

JYSK is an international retail chain that sells 'everything for the house'. JYSK is owned by the family behind Lars Larsen Group. Founder Lars Larsen is known throughout Denmark as the trader who always has a great offer. In 1979, when he opened his first store in Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark – the store is still there, by the way – Larsen had a lot of ambitions, although he never expected his business to grow so quickly. Larsen successfully opened several branches of JYSK Sengetøjslager (until 2001 the official name of the store) throughout Denmark. He later crossed the border into neighboring Germany, where he opened his first store in 1984.
