he shop started in 1945 in de Oude Hoogstraat nr. 3, mainly selling ordinary children’s books, novels and popular scientific books to the famous Dutch "Leesbibliotheken" (privately owned libraries with popular books). In 1951 we moved to number 4 and a few years later to a second shop at nr. 10 where the antiquarian department first started. In the early sixties my brother Rob and I joined the business of our father, and from then on we started growing.
