The Nanni bookstore, known as the oldest in Bologna, is certainly the last of the historic Bolognese bookstores and over time it has become an irreplaceable point of reference for every cultural operator. It was started in 1825 by the Marchesi family, who bought the pre-existing business of the Colomba printing house, specializing in antiques. In 1928 it was taken over by Arnaldo Nanni who equipped it with the characteristic Parisian stalls under the portico of Death. Today the bookshop deals with the sale of new and used texts for all schools; buys entire libraries; deals with texts of fiction, non-fiction, all encyclopedias and great new and second-hand valuable works. It is a branch of the Touring Club and therefore also deals with the sale of maps and tourist guides. The Nanni bookshop offers the possibility to receive at home the periodic catalog of out-of-print works and rare books of the 20th century.
