Masala was born in Biella in 2000 from an idea of Rita Mancini, eclectic and brilliant creator of the brand. Rita completed her first studies in the textile field first in Biella, hometown and center of Italian textile excellence, before moving to Milan where she attended the prestigious Marangoni fashion school. Already during the years of her studies, Rita began to receive requests for creations of bags and accessories from numerous companies until she came to realize her ideas giving life to the Masala brand. ARTISAN WORKSHOP The first laboratory opened in Biella by Rita immediately found a great response and requests came from all over Italy, more and more numerous. The new shapes of bags, the often recycled materials used, the colors and the imagination put into the creations, outline a very precise connotation of the brand: Masala becomes synonymous with skilful Italian craftsmanship. Each bag, accessory, item of clothing is handcrafted in our laboratories in Italy, with love and precision every day. WHY MASALA? What does Masala mean and why the choice of this name? Masala is a mixture of spicy spices that are used in the East to season and enhance foods. It is from this idea that Rita has concretized her ideas, creating and sewing special bags and accessories, enhancing the femininity of the woman who wears them. Everything that surrounds us can be shaped and adapted to our person, even the apparently most insignificant objects and those deemed to be discarded. Colors, fabrics, original shapes give life to the detail that distinguishes us. Wearing Masala accessories means finding a unique, creative world with a pinch of madness. MASALA TODAY Today Masala collections of bags, fashion accessories and the collection of comfortable and practical women's jersey clothing are born from Masala. Each bag is conceived and designed to be unique, beautiful and practical. It must be an irreplaceable companion during the days of every woman, on unique special occasions. The clothing collection is a real hymn to practicality, each garment falls softly on the body without wrapping it and does not need to be ironed! In June 2011 the Masala brand was acquired by the family company Tintoria Mancini, present on the market since 1969. By joining the family group, Masala has acquired greater prestige in the Made in Italy.
