Media World. Our first thirty years. 1979 MEDIAMARKT IS BORN The first MEDIA MARKT store opens in Munich. Its innovative concept expands rapidly throughout Europe and in 1991 it also arrives in Italy. 1991 MEDIA WORLD OPENS Curno, in the province of Bergamo, is chosen as the Italian headquarters and launch pad for the first Media World store. Expansion and innovation quickly make Media World number one in electronics in Italy. 1995 NAVIGATION ON MEDIAWORLD.IT Mediaworld.it arrives, a very innovative site for the years in which it was born. With that same spirit, the site evolves over the years, expanding and growing a lot. Also renewed in graphics, it provides promotions, services, information, insights and everything that can be useful to consumers. 1999 MEDIA WORLD BUY ON LINE IS BORN It is the Italian web-based sales division, it offers a wide range of products and a series of innovative downloading services such as net-print, for printing digital photographs, net-music and net -movie, for audio video content, and net e-books, for downloading digital books. Also available is the version of the site for mobile, mediaworld.mobi, which allows you to access the digital platform of Media World and enjoy all the contents on the move. TODAY Media World is the first Italian non-food distribution chain; there are 116 points of sale, located mainly in the main shopping centers with an average sales area of 2,500 square meters. A leadership achieved by maintaining the principles of multi-channel, value innovation and global community unchanged over time. The strategy is based today on a wide and updated offer with new technologies, price, location, flexible format and able to satisfy the needs of the consumer, service, communication, organizational well-being. All from an omnichannel perspective. That is to say the ability to sell and to create the conditions of relationship with the customer in any area through different points of contact or touch points.
