The history of the Riegl carpentry workshop In 1957, my parents began to assemble furniture in the garage of their house. They soon hired their first apprentice. 1959 My father built his first 250 m2 carpentry workshop in the Zwergasse, annexed to his house. At that time, it was already a large carpentry workshop with 5 employees. In 1968, construction began on a new workshop in Grazer Vorstadt 142 with 850 m² and 450 m² of exhibition space in the basement. For the first time, there was an opportunity to truly expand and fulfill customer orders with impeccable quality. In 1972, a furniture store with an exhibition area of 2500 m² was built, which was added directly to the joinery. We have been a leader in the region for 25 years. 1976 I started training as a carpenter in my parents' business. So I learned the profession from scratch. In 1987, I took over the entire company after gaining experience in other carpentry workshops. In 1991, a carpentry workshop was opened at the current location. At the moment, 49 people are employed. 1995 I started the planned downsizing of the company. 2005 Since then my daughter Nadine Riegl has been working in this business. After training as a florist, Nadine, so to speak, changed her career. With her creativity and hard work, she has greatly revitalized the business since then. 2005 Start of cutting of CNC panels. 2013 Construction and renovation of a new furniture store in Maltezergasse in Krems. 2014 1st anniversary of the carpentry shop as it stands.
