Together with the leather traveler Max Levi. in Kornwestheim, where the word and figurative mark SALAMANDER saw the light of day almost 20 years later. The first sales outlets were soon opened, the number of branches rose rapidly and expanded beyond national borders. In the interwar period, the two companies merged to form Salamander AG and were able to produce a full range of shoes. The character Lurchi, which is still known and popular today, was invented at the end of the 1930s and has since served as a figurehead for the company and with toys and exercise books as a child-friendly activity while buying shoes. After several takeovers, the German branch network has been expanding nationwide since 2009 under the leadership of Salamander Germany in Wuppertal with the full range of women's, men's and children's shoes, as well as accessories such as bags and belts.
