pro mente steiermark was founded in 1989 by a group of eight consisting of social workers, pedagogues and specialist trainers under the direction of Ms. DSAin Andrea Zeitlinger, MSc. The aim was and is to ensure social psychiatric care for people outside of inpatient care; this is individually tailored to the needs and resources of the people, multi-professional and accessible to everyone close to the community. The motivation behind this was - and still is - that people receive comprehensive support and support in their familiar environment in order to be able to shape their lives autonomously and independently.
