That's where joy grows: SONNENTOR Kräuterhandels GmbH SONNENTOR was founded in 1988 by Johannes Gutmann, the managing director who was only 23 at the time. The young entrepreneur had an unusual business idea: he wanted the herbal specialties of the organic farmers in the Lower Austrian Waldviertel, where he was born and grew up, to be marketed under the logo of the smiling sun - a medieval symbol of life and light with 24 rays that is still used today adorns many farms - nationally and internationally marketed. He was way ahead of the current organic trend. An essential feature of his idea from the beginning was the extensive processing of the raw materials directly on the organic farm in order to enable the survival of the small farms and also to be able to use the experience and care of the farmers and in this way the highest degree of responsibility for the consumer and achieve transparency.
