The property at Rümelinsplatz 7 has housed the SPIELEGGE for over 40 years. Back then, in the autumn of 1974, Hansruedi Berger founded the likeable toy store. At a time when whole avalanches of “disposable toys” were coming onto the market, it was important to him to be able to counteract a little! The cornerstone of his philosophy was the responsibility that we must all take towards our children. This responsibility includes the appreciation of good and natural materials, professional and high-quality workmanship and quality, harmonious colors and of course competent customer advice. A good toy only makes sense if it is used in an age-appropriate manner. Since January 1, 2012, SPIELEGGE GmbH has emerged from the sole proprietorship. The new boss in the house is Ivan Paulin. He pursues the same ideas as his predecessor, cherishes and maintains the range and is still willing to be able to pass on useful, valuable, good and beautiful toys to his small end users. The fact that the SPIELEGGE has been around for more than 40 years shows us, especially in today's electronics world, that we are an island, an island that is extremely important to be able to take on the responsibility towards our children mentioned at the beginning. Good toys encourage children to grasp the world with all their senses and enable imaginative play that is so important for human development.
