If you love sport and healthy living you have many things that unite you to the "SPORT CENTER" because "Sport is here". 1979, the "SPORT CENTER" comes to life from an intuition of Piero Franceschini and his wife Luisa. The adventure thus begins in a small space in the heart of Siena, a stone's throw from the Basilica of San Francesco and the ancient University. Piero, a skilled player who a few years earlier contributed with his determination to Mens Sana Basket's first historic rise to Serie A, understanding their needs, decides to make his experience available to many sportsmen, professionals and non-professionals. It is at the "SPORT CENTER" that in those years you can find the first legendary gray sweat suits made famous by Warren Beatty in the unforgettable “Heaven can wait”, or the unobtainable Converse sneakers. In a short time, the "SPORT CENTER" asserts itself more and more and becomes an important local reality, known and recognized by all as the place to find the most technical article or the "fashion" garment, so much so that after only three years (1981) must expand its spaces - and horizons - in the new premises of the very central and wealthy Via Montanini. The "SPORT CENTER" introduces, then, the sector of SKI and TECHNICAL CLOTHING for the mountains, qualitatively growing in the typical articles where it offers an increasingly wide choice of TENNIS RACKETS, FOOTBALL, BASKETBALL and LEISURE SHOES, all in a more welcoming and appropriate exhibition space for demanding customers. The shop in its first 13 years of accredited activity is also appreciated for the ASSISTANCE AND MAINTENANCE LABORATORY of skis and tennis rackets, in the perspective and initial vision, never lost, to make this shop not just a simple point sale, but the place to find availability and specific skills. And again. A lot of satisfactions satisfy but do not quell, on the contrary they move towards more ambitious initiatives, such as the opening in 1995 of a second large shop in the immediate outskirts of the city, in a strategically functional area to satisfy sportsmen of all ages engaged in the nearby multipurpose gyms. In the wide spaces (900 square meters) of Via Achille Sclavo, the "SPORT CENTER" is completed with equipment for HOME FITNESS - CYCLETTE; TAPIS ROULANT, BENCHES and is enriched in a short time by the professionalism of the new generation Franceschini, Filippo and Niccolò and by a competent staff of experts and valid collaborators. "Sport is here" is not only the motto of this team which, like a real team, puts its skills on the field, but it is also the most spontaneous expression that is invoked upon entering the "SPORT CENTER". 2007, the large shop in Via Achille Sclavo is completely renewed in the furnishings but above all in the proposals and, in fact, is embellished with an exclusive corner entirely dedicated to SNOWBOARD, because "SPORT CENTER" always has an eye to the future. Almost 30 years have passed and the "SPORT CENTER" still has a lot of things to invent and offer to those who share the same passion.
