SpyShop Amsterdam

Our Spyshop was founded in 1978 at an address in the Lindenstraat in Amsterdam (Jordaan), with right '3 high behind'! With the help of advertisements placed in the Telegraaf (business & transactions) and with the help of the media (newspapers, magazines, TV) our Spyshop (then called “Personal Security Systems”) was a huge success from day one. In the beginning we only sold a few products (including transmitters on the FM band!) But the demand was high. Sales were usually cash on delivery by post. We had no competition: there were only 3 such companies in the whole of Europe (2 in Germany and us in the Netherlands). Internet and the Fax machine did not exist. Only telephone, telex and post. Because we grew out of our jacket, we moved to the Postjesweg 10 years later, where we have been located for over 30 years with 2 stores. Times and products have of course changed. Nowadays we focus exclusively on the better segment. Alibaba, Amazon and Bolcom articles are readily available, but mostly “Gadgets”. Our Spyshop has nothing to do with “Gadgets”. We prefer to supply solid equipment from England, South Korea, Japan and the USA. We can and dare to give a 12-month warranty without reservation. Partly because of this, we are of the opinion that our equipment is not suitable for offering via a Webshop. We prefer to hear the customer's story personally (if they are open to it) and then think along which technical tool can best be used to anticipate or clarify possible problems.
