The company was founded in Austria in 1895 and develops, produces and sells high-quality crystals, synthetic gemstones and real gemstones as well as jewelry, accessories and lighting solutions. The crystal division is run by the fifth generation of the family and is represented worldwide with around 2,800 stores in around 170 countries. More than 27,000 employees generated sales of around 2.6 billion euros in 2016. Together with its sister companies Swarovski Optik (optical precision instruments) and Tyrolit (grinding tools), the Crystal division forms the Swarovski Group. In 2016, the group achieved sales of around 3.37 billion euros with more than 32,000 employees.
