We encourage women. We inspire you. We are a brand FOR women and have been since day 1, when our founder Tally started working on her first designs in a small garage in Switzerland. HOW IT ALL BEGAN It was the year 1984. The beginning of a great success story of two passionate and determined people, Ravital (“Tally”) Tally Elfassi-Weijl and her business partner Beat Grüring. Convinced that we can all have access to the latest trends - no matter how favored you are - they drove out with their little Fiat and started supplying Swiss fashion houses and boutiques with their clothes. The fact that they delivered the collections within just two to four weeks was revolutionary and “just in time” became the key to their success. OWN STORES As early as 1987, Tally and Beat opened their first own TALLY WEiJL store in Friborg (CH) in order to be closer to the customer. It was the beginning of a small fashion empire. Together with the first franchise partners, we opened numerous other stores in Switzerland, followed by an exciting trip abroad. INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION In 1997 we opened our first store in Germany. Three years later the first in Poland. And in 2000 TALLY WEiJL already had over 50 stores across Europe. It was time to think bigger and get even braver. So we launched our first image campaign under the motto “Totally sexy”. Over the next few years, TALLY WEiJL developed into one of the leading international fashion retailers and opened more than 100 stores per year. This exceeded the wildest dreams of our two founders. E-TAILER Many years have passed since then. We moved with the times. "Totally sexy" is no longer the motto and we have also said goodbye to our popular symbol, the bunny. We entered the online and omnichannel business while maintaining our retail and franchise concept. We are always curious. We are looking for innovations to offer you the best possible service. Online and offline. Day and night. TODAY So here we are. With more than 800 stores worldwide, 14 online shops and 3,000 employees. The company is still family-owned and is based in Basel, Switzerland. We never forget where we come from. We never forget why we do what we do and who we do it for. Namely for you.
