Tip de Bruin has been located on the Nieuwendijk in Amsterdam since 1953. What once started as a menswear boutique has grown into an institution in the city and far beyond. With now 4 stores next to each other, each with their own atmosphere and clothing style, you can come to us for something beautiful for every conceivable occasion. Tip de Bruin, founder and namesake of the store, was a visionary. He soon sold internationally known brands in his shop. Something that was new and special at the time. In the 1960s he focused on the sale of artist clothing, which was often commissioned especially for the store. There was even a separate fitting room in the store where bands could stand on a stage opposite a mirror wall. Tip would then operate the colored lighting himself so that they could see what the glitter jackets to be purchased would look like during a performance. Well-known Dutch and foreign artists visited the store regularly. Towards the end of the last century, Tip de Bruin grew into the wedding clothing specialist in the Netherlands. As a groom-to-be, you should definitely have visited the Nieuwendijk to get dressed there. Choosing a wedding suit with the whole family at Tip became almost a standard part of preparing for the wedding. After the turn of the century, Tip de Bruin became “streetwise”. Many people now know us from the jeans, sneakers, tops and especially jackets.
