In our specialist bookstore in Zurich's Niederdorf you will not only find travel guides, but also exciting travel reports, authentic fiction, moving illustrated books, knowledgeable background literature and maps, even from remote places. The Travel Book Shop has almost fifty years of experience. It was founded by Gisela and Robert Treichler, who wrote the first India guide for individual travelers. From these beginnings, a well-founded, diverse map and travel book shop developed, where travel enthusiasts and globetrotters met - from students to the Federal Council. For a long time the Travel Book Shop was the only place that sold international cards. There was no online offer. Despite its great popularity and loyal regular customers, the Travel Book Shop also had to struggle with the emerging competition on the Internet. In order to avert bankruptcy, the current owner, Regula Weber, took over the business in 2012. She and her team have been running the Travel Book Shop with renewed vigor ever since. The high demands on quality and variety have remained.
