The idea for this unusual project came from the man on the farm, who had been talking about growing truffles himself for years. Now is the time to do this on a grand scale. “We both grew up in Linz as city children, but we have always felt more comfortable in the country. Nature and its beauty is what fascinates us so much about country life, ”explains Dieter Unger, head of management strategies and web design. “With the truffle plantation we fulfill two wishes at once: to have truffles right on our doorstep and to live in and with nature. In our partner shop you can also buy truffle trees and, with guidance and support, carry out the truffle cultivation up to the first truffle harvest. ”The truffle plantation extends over approximately one hectare of land, on which 700 truffle bushes are fenced. The Unger family mainly deals with the agricultural cultivation of organic truffles. All technical systems and inventions on the farm are the result of "Didi's tinkering brain"; that's what his friends call him affectionately. He is also to thank for the solar system on the roof, for example, which supplies the irrigation system, the soil and weather measuring devices or the charging station of the robotic lawn mowers with emission-free electricity. Behind the truffle slope are the inquisitive truffle fans Astrid Marina Unger (managing director) and Dieter Unger (head of management strategies and web design). From organic truffle cultivation to truffle harvest, the couple stands behind the sole proprietorship Truffelhang and has dedicated themselves to the extraordinary delicacy. Astrid Marina is a trained garden center clerk, childminder with a focus on English and an enthusiastic hobby gardener with a preference for useful plants and orchids. Dieter (Didi) is a trained electrician, mechanical engineer, specialist in electrical systems and hobby horticulturist, who helps Marina manage the truffle plantation in his free time. The result is that you can buy fresh truffles at Truefflhang.at and order the finest truffle products.
